Nicole Alexander, MD

Obstetrician / Gynecologist - Board Certified

Dr. Nicole Alexander is a Board-Certified OBGYN, who joins Women4Women OBGYN after five years’ experience in private practice in Lakeland, Florida.  After graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Dr. Alexander did her residency at the renowned Winne Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies in Orlando, Florida, which uniquely prepared her to manage every aspect of patient care for the women she serves. Additionally, she received extensive training in the newest technologies for gynecologic surgery, with a focus in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. During her residency, Dr. Alexander accumulated many awards from the University of Central Florida for her excellence in resident and medical student education, and rose to the role of Chief Resident in her fourth year.

The decision to become an OBGYN was a natural progression from Dr. Alexander’s early years as a curious and empathetic child, who was always looking for something to fix or ways to help others.  As the first physician in her family, she remained determined to navigate the pathway toward medical school despite having limited knowledge of the process. While in medical school, she became interested in the field of OBGYN in the operating room, as she learned of the many exciting procedures available to help women of all ages.  Her interest in the field was solidified in the delivery room, helping women through their pregnancies to culminate in the most special moment of their lives.  Along with the comprehensive women’s healthcare she provides, Dr. Alexander takes a special interest in adolescent gynecology as well as in healthy living and weight loss, taking from her own weight loss journey to help advise others toward self-improvement.

In her spare time, Dr. Alexander likes to stay active playing tennis and riding her Peloton, and enjoys hiking outdoors.  She loves traveling, either by airplane or by RV, and discovering new places.  She is joined in her journey to make a new home in Huntsville by her beloved cat Emo, who has been her constant companion since she was in college.Empty heading

Emily Mills Craner, MD

Obstetrician / Gynecologist - Board Certified

Dr. Emily Craner is a Board-Certified OBGYN who returns home to join us at Women4Women OBGYN after six years in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama. Having graduated from Bob Jones High School, Dr. Craner went on to The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she graduated with Honors with her Bachelors of Science in Biology. She continued her education at The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received her medical degree from The Heersink School of Medicine. Dr. Craner completed her OBGYN Internship at The University of Hawaii in Honolulu. She completed her training at Memorial Health in Savannah, Georgia where she routinely earned top scores on residency exams. The program at Memorial Health exposed
Dr. Craner to a variety of high risk pregnancy and gynecological conditions. Having the
opportunity to train at two different programs has given Dr. Craner a unique and well-rounded perspective on women’s health care. Following training, Dr. Craner had the privilege to practice at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama for six years.

As a teenager, Dr. Craner witnessed the birth of her niece at Huntsville Hospital. This

experience planted a seed of interest in supporting pregnancy and birth that has blossomed into a passion for all women’s reproductive health. In all her patient encounters, Dr. Craner makes it her goal to elicit their concerns and goals in order to discern what tests and treatment options may assist her in diagnosis and improving their health. While pregnancy care remains a passion, Dr Craner also finds immense satisfaction in assisting women with breastfeeding, fertility concerns, and general gynecologic care.

Dr Craner is excited to settle in Huntsville with her husband PJ, whom she met during his Naval service at Pearl Harbor; their two sons Mills and Linus; and their bernedoodle. They enjoy spending time with their extended family, hiking, and consider themselves low level foodies.

She has held several national offices, including the Chair of the ARDMS Midwifery Ultrasound Education Division, and is an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives Ultrasound Education Committee.

Despite all the organizational commitments, Diana’s primary professional passion has been for helping women and babies on an individual basis. Diana has traveled to many countries providing critical healthcare education, most recently in Grenada, and Uganda. Having worked globally, Diana has developed a clear understanding of the universality of human suffering, especially for women and babies. That, very often, is during childbearing, but extends to all aspects of women’s care.

Diana is active with family and church activities. She is married to a middle school teacher, and has 2 grown sons, both married. One son (architect) and his wife live in Huntsville; and the other son (in seminary) and his wife are in Denver.
